The Femoral Fragility Service is based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and is the biggest in UK as it deals with 1250 Fragility fractures every year. The fellow will be expected to play an important clinical role in the management of Hip and Periprosthetic Fractures. This will involve NOF/Periprosthetic fracture theatre lists, trauma outpatient clinics and pre and post-operative ward work. The fellow will join the theatre team of Fragility Theatre either with a Consultant JSD(Higher) or on his own with a JSD(Standard/SHO) depending on rota gaps.

The Fellow will also follow up the Fragility patients who need to be reviewed for clinical or research reasons. The Fellow will also attend the daily Trauma MDT and lead the organisation and running of one monthly Morbidity and Mortality Femoral Fragility Meeting.
