**40 hrs per week, 52 weeks a year**
**Salary Range £36,633 - £42,140 per annum (Grade 11:12) ** depending on experience and qualifications
Grace Garden School is a new, exciting and innovative provision which offers full-time education to children aged 9-16 years who have significant/complex social, emotional or educational difficulties.
For over 30 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Education to children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. Inspired by Aonghus Gordon using the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris, Ruskin Mill Trust works with hand, head, heart and place to provide students with the tools to transform material and in doing so transform themselves.
We are seeking to appoint a Designated Safeguarding Lead to support the Executive Principal in providing leadership for Grace Garden School. Responsible for its success and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its students and the highest standards of learning and achievement in accordance with statutory and Ofsted requirements, and in line with the vision and method of Ruskin Mill Trust. The post holder will be the Designated Safeguarding Lead and will lead on behaviour management and pastoral support within the school
- **Main Duties include**:_
- To have the responsibility for the Designated Safeguarding Lead and pastoral support within the school.
- To act as a line manager for designated staff, including carrying out probationary reviews, performance development reviews, supervisions, debriefs and performance and absence management.
- To act as a Designated Attendance Lead in accordance to the Attendance Policy.
- Develop and present an accurate account of the school’s performance with regards to your specific areas of responsibility to a range of audiences including Directors, parents and carers, funding and registration bodies and Ofsted in collaboration with the Executive Principal and the SLT.
- To work in collaboration with the Executive Principal to drive the school improvement and the school self
- assessment and improvement plan in the context of the Ofsted inspection framework and the educational and therapeutic paradigm of the Trust.
**The qualifications, skills and experiences that we are looking for are**:
- Ideally Degree-level or Masters-level education
- Ideally QTS/ full teaching qualification
- Qualified to Level 3 or above in Safeguarding Children and Adults
- Experience of leading and managing change to deliver improved performance.
- Experience of successful performance management.
- Experience of specialist education
