Student Shopping UK plan, promote and deliver student shopping nights to retail destinations across the UK. Since 2011 we have delivered over 100 events, across 34 venues, engaging with over 750,000 students.

Our clients include the Trafford Centre (Manchester), Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth), St James Quarter (Edinburgh), Metrocentre (Gateshead), Churchill Square (Brighton) & Eldon Square (Newcastle).

**The role**

As one of our events assistants you will be taking responsibility for the delivery of your own portfolio of student shopping nights that will take place in the North East across September and October. Following an initial period of training and development, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of running and managing your own marketing campaigns, supporting the promotion of our student shopping nights. This is the perfect role for event management and marketing graduates looking for some hands-on experience.

**Key roles include**
- Pre-event and onsite management of selected student shopping nights within SSUK’s portfolio
- based within the North East
- Pre-event and onsite event management of selected freshers’ fairs and promotional events prior to our student shopping nights
- Create and deliver marketing plans, designed to attract students to our events.
- Compose social media campaigns to engage with local student audiences
- Organise event logistics including staffing, transport and accommodation
- Source and manage promotional staff
- Event reporting pre and post event

**Job requirements**
- University Degree (ideally in Event Management or Marketing)
- Previous event management and/or marketing experience
- A professional, confident and friendly manner
- An excellent eye for detail
- A pro-active, positive and 'can-do' attitude
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Problem solving and calm under pressure
- Based North East (Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham)
- Ability and willingness to travel within the UK
- UK driving license (preferred)
