**Insight & Analytics Intern**

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour

**About the Role**

We are seeking an analytical thinker and self-motivated intern to join our Insight & Analytics team on an 8-week summer internship programme.

McCarthy Stone’s internship programme will provide you with an excellent experience where you will gain industry and field-related skills, and experience, while earning a competitive salary. Taking part in our programme will boost your CV and will ensure you have a deep understanding of our business, the industry that we operate in and an insight into our customers.

This role will give you the opportunity to design, manage and deliver a self-contained research project, with the aim of gaining further insights into the market size and potential for further delivery of care and lifestyle services to our homeowners. Some of the key responsibilities in this project will include:

- Project management - identify project deliverables, key milestones and set deadlines.
- Design a quantitative survey - identify business insight needs to be addressed and best approach for survey delivery.
- Undertake field work - launch survey and communicate deadlines to participants.
- Monitor progress of completion - including liaising with participants to ensure deadlines are met.
- Data collection and cleanse - review responses and cleanse for analysis.
- Data analysis and insights - using excel (or other statistical software) to analyse survey and identify market size, trends and business opportunities in line with project deliverables.
- Data visualisation - produce a final report of findings.
- Presentation of findings - present final report to key stakeholders.

Alongside your role, you will be part of a cohort of interns which will instantly enable you to start building your internal network at McCarthy Stone. There will also be a series of Learning & Development opportunities to get involved in throughout your journey with us including insight and skills sessions and lunch and learns on key business topics.

**Please note that this role will require working from our Bournemouth office on a hybrid basis.**

**About You**

**Education and Qualifications**
- Studying towards a degree which has research focussed modules e.g., Marketing, Statistics, Business, Psychology, Geography, Social Sciences, on target for a minimum of a 2:1
- 3 A Levels (or equivalent) grades A*-C.

**Personal Attributes**
- Interested in a career within research, insight or analytics.
- Organised and can set their own deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
- Communicates clearly, both written and verbally, and feels confident liaising with people at different levels across the organisation.
- Shows a good level of attention to detail and is an analytical thinker.
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Computer literate and has experience in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Knowledge of survey design, preferably with experience of using Microsoft forms (or survey software such as SurveyMonkey), including best practice principles and ethical data collection.
- Has some knowledge of data visualisation and can demonstrate the ability to present findings.
