The Company:
A Packaging Manufacturer who is now looking for a Site Buyer to join their team.

Job Title:
Site Buyer

Job Purpose of the Site Buyer:
The Site Buyer executes the procurement strategy at local level and is the interface with local suppliers and is responsible for contract execution, managing LOCAL, non-group governed supplier contracts, and implementation of Value Engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Buyer:
Act as the key procurement interface between local stakeholders

Drive change management, value engineering and continuous improvements projects to improve suppliers’ QDCS performance. planning, operations, Innovation, etc.

A key participant in the S&OP process, focused on gaps in supply and vulnerabilities & opportunities.

A first escalation point for local raw material & general supplier issues.

Finding and purchasing small equipment and components for the factory

Evaluate suppliers across a diverse portfolio, products, and services, negotiate local contracts, and ensure that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.

Service Level Agreements and Supplier Scorecards implementation

Build strong and effective supplier relationships.

Work with Group Purchasing and Technical to centralise products that lead to increased group profits through leverage and risk mitigation.

Implement PPV reporting and associated activities.

Create and support buy
- back processes to promote recycling targets.

Create a spot-buy process in association with the BPF to ensure recycled material availability is understood and system set-up supports purchase.

IFS optimisation and process simplification, drive power BI reporting and improvement development

Review as-is processes for Purchase requisitions and orders and third party purchasing to reduce touch points and approvals.

Build consignment stock agreements with consumables and material suppliers.

Maintain and rationalise supplier data base.

Establish and monitor spend against budget.

Remove single trip packaging from Supply Chain

Promote teamwork with other departments.

Safety & The Environment:
Responsible to actively participate in company safety procedures and systems within the areas that the role incorporates in pursuit of a safe working environment.

Responsible for maintaining the working environment to the agreed 5S Level.

Quality:
To ensure that purchasing strategy and processes deliver continuity of supply that meets all approved specifications and comply with the company’s quality systems so that customer expectations are achieved.

Ensure that Supplier performance processes are designed, implemented and maintained to ensure quality of purchased and delivered goods that contribute to meeting customer needs and expectations.

Cost Control:
Understand the implications of decisions on the entire Supply Chain, and working capital, taking a holistic company approach during scheduling and procurement.

Delivery
Ensure procurement plans are conducted to required timescales to ensure that customer and business needs are met.

Ensure all inbound deliveries are correct and on time. Expediting late deliveries and communicating to suppliers of any discrepancies (qty / vol).

Continuous Improvement Accountabilities:
Take a positive and proactive approach to continuous improvement through suggesting and agreeing ideas as part of a team or on an individual basis.

Encourage contribution of ideas from the team/individuals and gives feedback in all cases in a timely manner to ensure performance is maximised.

Participate and contribute to the wider activities of the Operations Management Team.

Assist the maintenance of Operational Procedures for the Supply Chain Team.

Use continuous improvement tools and techniques consistently and appropriately to deliver best practice and improvement of the standard.

To carry out any other duties, relevant to the post which may arise thus ensuring a comprehensive and flexible service to the business.

Develop ERP systems to deliver optimum automation of purchasing and planning processes.

Skills and Experience:
**Experience**:
Min 3-4 years in a procurement, purchasing, sourcing or similar function (OPS or SC management also valued)

Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills

Minimum 2 languages fluent (English mandatory, written and spoken) an advantage.

Good planning/project management ability

Good negotiation skills

Experience in an injection moulding environment or similar of managing contract negotiations, supplier sourcing, selection and performance is advantageous.

Experience working in a dynamic manufacturing / process environment preferable with a background in injection moulding and engineering advantageous.

Knowledge of company operational system - operational understanding and sufficient skill / knowledge to train others.

An operational knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
