**Exciting Opportunity: Commercial Assistant (Quantity Surveyor) - Nationwide Main Contractor**

Position Overview: As the Commercial Assistant (Quantity Surveyor), you will be an integral part of our esteemed Commercial function, working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS). Your primary focus will be on ensuring projects are completed within projected budgets, while providing essential support to the commercial team and undertaking your own set of commercial duties on the framework.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilise your keen eye for detail in the measurement and valuation of works for valuations, variations, and final accounts as directed.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure seamless project execution.
- Establish strong relationships through direct interface and liaison with the supply chain.
- Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors, honing your communication, cost management, cash flow, and reporting skills.
- Play a key role in change control management, identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records for both in-house and client early warning and compensation event registers.
- Manage commercial information relevant to the contract, contributing to its smooth implementation.
- Prepare comprehensive pre-cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Provide measurement and valuation of subcontractors' work for payment and final account purposes.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment to subcontractors in line with contractual agreements.
- Present regular payment certificates for review and approval by your line manager.
- Assist in preparing external valuations, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Develop expertise in cash maximization principles while providing detailed records and valuations of executed work.
- Analyze Head Office cost prints, comparing them with site-based information, and resolving any discrepancies with the Cost Department.
- Review sub-contract liabilities to ensure contractual compliance.

Qualifications:

- A background in civil engineering, telecoms, or utilities will be advantageous.
