Coventry, United Kingdom SEVERN TRENT Full time

Our purpose at Severn Trent is **taking care of life’s essentials** and working in our Finance department does this and so much more.

Severn Trent Water is a **FTSE100** utilities business based in the heart **of Coventry City Centre.** Our Compliance & Assurance business is central to our head office with all our teams based here, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and high performance where doing a great job for a common cause is what we aim for.

We are currently looking for a Compliance & Assurance Assistant to come and join the team as we move to ensure there is greater focus on driving and maintaining high compliance and assurance standards across the Severn Trent Group. The key objective across the function is to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed our regulatory reporting, licence and statutory obligations. We will do this by implementing a matrix approach which will supports us in improving our effectiveness and efficiency.

In this newly created role, you will report to the Group Compliance Manager and have responsibility for the team programme plan and team sites. This will include the planning, scheduling and tracking of assurance activities; coordination of EIR and Ofwat requests; GC ERM coordination; and supporting the Group Compliance and Assurance Management Team.

Are you looking to take the next step in your career and help us build something which will help not just our business but also the communities we serve?

Well, if you do, read on.

**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**

In this new role we will look for you to promote a culture of compliance and assurance best practice. You will do this in several different ways, working with and communicating with stakeholders from across the Severn Trent Water business. We will also look for you to Co-ordinate the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) process to ensure everyone is aware of their obligations and what they need to do.

We will look for you to be highly efficient and bring a good level of attention to detail in the role. This is due to you having to manage the Ofwat, EIR & GCA inbox's, along with co-ordinating responses with business owners. You will also manage the Annual Performance Report / PR24 query process and being the O365 champion you will proactively identify and train the team on how to improve effectiveness and efficiency through our use of systems.

Your organisation skills will also be tested to the max as you will be in charge of scheduling mid
- year and year
- end licence to operate and Annual Performance Report assurance sessions, and also assisting with the management of third-party assurance providers, including supporting processing of feedback and actions.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.

We will look for you to be highly organised and have an ability to prioritise your work and that of others. We will want you to have the ability to communicate effectively as you will be working with senior stakeholders from across the business and you will have to manage their expectations. We’ll want you to have a strong attention to detail as information which you will handle will not only be passed internally but also to external regulators.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?

**WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU**

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Seven Trent family:

- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
- Annual bonus scheme (of up to £1,500 per annum based on company performance)
- Leading pension scheme - we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
- Sharesave - the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
- 10% monthly discount with Busy Bee Nurserys, and one-week free childcare
- Dedicated training and development with our ‘Academy’
- Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
- Family friendly policies
- Two volunteering days per year
