Plymouth, United Kingdom Aster Group Full time

Working as part of the housing team based in Devon & Cornwall, you’ll play an integral role as a housing assistant supporting our housing team.

**What you’ll be doing**

You will be working as part of a team supporting all administration related to housing. You will need great customer service skills and the ability to form professional working relationships with a wide range of customers, colleagues and agencies.

You’ll support the wider housing teams across Devon & Cornwall as we are a multifunctional team who support each other when needed.

**About you**

You’ll be customer focussed and have a strong understanding of the importance of customer service, so being an effective communicator is essential as you will be able to explain things clearly on the phone or in writing. You will be busy, so great time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively are essential. The ability to adapt and be flexible will also help.

You’ll be confident using IT, specifically the Microsoft office suite and will be confident in following processes as the customer accounts support is largely process driven results.

Having knowledge of customer accounts, housing benefits and universal credit would be advantageous but not essential, and if you have experience of working with payment software that would be great but don’t worry, we can teach you

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes as you may need to travel to support the wider housing team. Our hub office is based in Plymouth.

A strong desire to work in the housing sector, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are all important attributes.

**What’s in it for me**

We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:

- Flexible working - whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them and their team
- A focus on colleague wellbeing - workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, virtual GP services, mental health training and a health cash plan for all
- We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks
- Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance
- Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back
- Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more
- Enhanced leave
- We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised thank you and monthly and annual awards.
