The Role includes:

- Key responsibility: develop and supervise a team of care workers to provide high quality care that is safe, effective, and responsive to each clients needs and preferences. Support each client to live their life the way they choose as far as they are able. Respect clients choices and always promote dignity and privacy. Take part in out of hours emergency on-call rota as and when required. Effectively deal with emergency on-call issues, for example covering calls either directly or indirectly when care workers are sick or absent. Record emergency calls and pass the information to appropriate parties.

Duties:

- Work well with clients
- Carry out spot checks on all carers
- To complete observations of Medication Administration and sign off as competent
- To complete observations of moving and handling and sign off as competent
- Prior to each service commencing, carry out with clients, and/or their chosen representative, an assessment of what the client needs and what they would like to achieve from their care and support, together with a risk assessment.
- Agree medication risk assessments
- Create and agree written individually tailored plan of care and support that respects the client's wishes.
- Keep all information about clients and their families secure and confidential.
- Work well with staff
- Give care workers appropriate information and guidance to provide care and support effectively and safely as agreed in the care and support plan.
- Work closely with our Coordinator to appropriately match care workers to clients, Attend the customers first call to introduce the care worker, report changes to care schedules without delay to the coordinator, client and care worker.
- Provide advice, training, supervision, and other support to care workers and support supervisors as required.
- Arrange and manage staff change over
- Assist with investigations. All accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and acted upon to ensure care and support is provided.
- Work effectively with clients, families and other professionals including your work colleagues within and outside the office.
- Take part in staff and client meetings
- Attend training activities, appraisals and development meetings.
- Respect for people suffering from a range of medical conditions with different backgrounds and beliefs of their own, commitment to non
- discriminatory care practise.
- Ability to plan and organise workloads effectively so that clients receive the service that they expect.

**Skills**:

- Ability to use own initiative and work alone or as part of a team, especially in emergencies.
- S/NVQ L3 or equivalent or working towards.
- Good understanding of health and safety matters in relation to homecare services and why this is important.
- Professional, smart appearance knowledge and understanding
- Experience of supervising the delivery of social care services.
- Previous experience of risk assessment and person-centred care and support planning.
- Good administrative skills and computer literacy.
- Willingness to work flexibly and keep knowledge and skills up to date.
