**HR Advisor**

**Wage: £27,000 - £32,000 + £3,000 car allowance**

**Monday to Friday - 37.5hours**

**Location: One day per week in the office in Colchester. Will have to cover one day per week at a site across Norfolk and Suffolk. Potentially more, diary dependent.**

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Provide professional advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of employee relations and employment law including disciplinaries, grievances and sickness absence in accordance with current HR policies and procedures and operational needs. Escalate any complex issues to the HR Manager.
- Support and encourage managers to bring outstanding employee relations cases to a resolution in a timely manner. Ensure the ER tracker is maintained and updated as appropriate. Highlight any key areas of risk to the HR Manager.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, by providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.
- Provide on-site support to homes and branches as appropriate to include attendance at formal meetings for minute taking, HR support etc.
- Encourage and support managers to pro-actively manage sickness absence - both short and long-term within their areas of responsibility to bring any outstanding cases to an appropriate resolution.
- Coach our managers to help them develop their people management skills as required.
- Support the HR Manager in relation to complex employee relations matters including TUPE and redundancy, including employee consultation.
- Provide professional support and guidance to managers to encourage them to establish and implement activities and actions to help increase employee engagement across the organisation.
- Promote employee reward and recognition and ensure consistency across all areas.
- Working with the HR Manager and operational partners to help develop and execute plans to maximise employee attraction, minimise turnover and improve retention.
- Represent the HR team at regional team meetings as required.
- Assist the HR Manager in reviewing and updating of HR policies and procedures.
- Undertake HR project work as required.
- Keep abreast of any key developments in employment law and employee relations, including new statue or case law.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment that the company operates in including CQC compliance and safeguarding legislation.

**Daily Duties**
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Respect the confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulations at all times.
- Ensure the dignity and respect of every service user and/or resident is maintained at all times.
- Regular travel as required within the area and other areas within the company for business and training. Including overnight stays.
- This list is not exhaustive and you may need to carry out other duties within the remit of the role.

**Knowledge and Experience**

**_Essential_**
- Proven experience in a similar role providing HR-related support and guidance to line managers within a fast-paced, commercial environment.
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and practical experience of managing employee relations casework to a successful outcome, meeting the commercial needs of the business.
- Experience of developing and maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders including managers, senior leaders and external partners.

**Personal Skills and Abilities**
- **Must be CIPD or equivalent qualification (Level 5 or above) (or currently or committed to working towards this), or 5+ years experience in a similar role.**:

- Awareness of CQC regulation and safeguarding legislation.
- Develop good and effective relationships with all aspects of the business internally and externally.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage, prioritise and work to deadlines

- Commercial acumen. Ability to be able to analyse risk and provide HR advice in consideration of operational needs.
- Ability to manage own workload and priorities.
- Complete tasks to a high standard with attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate an ability to ensure confidentiality
- Ability to communicate and present complex and sensitive information.
- Ability to analyse, translate and communicate data and statistics
- Ability to deal professionally with a wide range of people including employees, managers and senior managers.
