**Job summary**:

At Andover Support Unit (ASpU), the Transport Support Unit (TSU) provides support to the Army Headquarters (AHQ) within Marlborough Lines, Andover. The TSU is 24 hour 7 days a week operational environment to conduct and support the military capability to operations worldwide.

TSU services include, administering White Fleet Self-Drive vehicles and UK hires, also Motor Mileage certificates for personnel utilising their own vehicles. The TSU administrative function is set to ensure value for money on all journeys requested. Ensuring the compliance in Defence Policy and Governance of Entitlement when utilising public funds.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The role is ideal if you would like to progress or start a career in Business Administration or if you are looking to bring previous administration experience to a new organisation.

You will be working with an excellent customer service focused team, noting this role is predominately, but not limited to, coordinating transport solutions.

***Key Responsibilities
- In a timely manner, process transport service requests that are received from personnel based at Army HQ. Checking entitlement to travel in accordance with the relevant Defence regulations, always ensuring best value for money at public cost is always pursued.
- Scheduling vehicles and drivers in the most effective manner, ensuring that full utilisation of fleet and driver resources are sought.
- Ensuring the vehicle fleet is in full working order, reporting defects immediately and arranging vehicles to be repaired at the earliest convenience.
- Conducting customer driving licence checks, ensuring that all AHQ personnel are current and competent to drive the required vehicles on the fleet.
- Data collation for road safety initiatives, weekly download of telematics data and where there are breeches in driver behaviour the customer is to be contacted and asked to report to the TSU.

**Person specification**:
To be considered for this role, you must have excellent communication skills with good attention to detail. Excellent time leadership skills, with an ability to prioritise are crucial, and we are looking for someone who can work independently and in a team.

You will need to proficient in using Microsoft Office software products, specifically Outlook and Excel, training will be provided on the various Transport Management Systems.
