The post holder will be able to provide an excellent standard of radiographic imaging and quality of patient care whilst maintaining a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients including when under a variety of pressures. Excellent written and oralcommunication with both patients and colleagues is essential alongside the ability to work as part of a team. In addition to this, the post holder must be comfortable working autonomously using initiative, but also knowing when to seek assistance and guidance
- the post holder must be able to manage their own workload.
**Examples of Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To independently undertake diagnostic radiology procedures maintaining high professional standards of technical competence and always ensuring standards of essence of care
- Be fully aware of the safety aspects and hazards, and related emergency procedures, ensuring safe use of specialist radiology equipment and reporting equipment failures immediately
- To supervise and provide clinical assistance to radiographers, assistant practitioners, and students
- To take responsibility for the care of the patient whilst undertaking the procedure
- Offer an opinion on images obtained to relevant medical personnel
- To ensure the protection and safety of all patients and staff against the dangers of radiation
- Responsible for ensuring accurate patient records, including radiation dose and exposure factors - ensure correct patient documentation is recorded
- Be HCPC registered
- Have a BSc in Radiography
- Have previous NHS experience
- Specialist knowledge and experience as appropriate to grade
- Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelines
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and approach at all times
