**THE ROLE**
The Group Commercial Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of global net media income to Talon. In the first instance, they will help set up, support, develop and scale commercial products and operations across Talon and the network. The role will work closely with all local Talon Investment teams and the local management team to support delivery of sustainable media income across all our key markets.
The Group Commercial Officer is tasked with developing new revenue streams and supporting local Talon communities in all aspects of revenue delivery. The role will support the strategic and commercial direction of the business by helping to define where our next commercial focus areas should be, explore what risks and opportunities are on the horizon and define approaches to overcome them. The focus is working with local market communities to stress-test, refine and deliver the business’ commercial strategy; ultimately, driving the delivery of current revenue streams and establishing new models as part of a sustainable future.
Internal and external focus will be required with education, operational process and key stakeholder management being applied to all elements of the role. There will be a requirement to travel internationally to local market teams (as appropriate) to achieve success in this role.
Talon has an agenda to future proof the business model and ensure sustainable media income is delivered across out markets. We are therefore always looking to evolve commercial models we implement with clients and our partners to maximise value for all. This role is responsible for working with our global team and local markets to collaboratively develop and share trading best practice to drive diversification of our global media income.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATIONSHIPS**
- Commercial Strategy Development:
Develop and refine the global commercial strategy, aligning it with the company's overall vision and goals.
Identifying and analysing key commercial projects that can deliver high margin growth and support sustainable media income initiatives.
Developing, testing, and implementing new commercial practices that drive an incremental benefit for our partners, clients, and Talon.
Revenue Generation:
Implement effective sales strategies and revenue growth initiatives to meet and exceed sales targets.
Lead negotiations with key clients, advertisers, agencies, and partners to secure profitable contracts and long-term agreements.
Global Partnerships:
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with advertisers, agencies, technology providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure consistent execution of partnership agreements worldwide.
Running commercial workshops with markets to understand current local trading practices and develop local trading strategies to protect and grow media income, with a focus on minimising out of favour trading models (e.g., AVBs) and moving towards future proofing frameworks (e.g., Principal Trading, Financial Instruments)
Upskilling local teams and ensuring that best-in-class standard operating procedures are followed, including the use of Talon technology tools where appropriate
