Pupil Support Worker
Accrington, Lancashire
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours in Key Stage 2 up to Key Stage 4.
- Deescalating challenging behaviour in a calm and safe manner, and implementing behaviour management strategies.
- Providing academic and pastoral support to pupils, including one-to-one support and small group interventions.
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure that pupils have the best possible outcomes.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents, and promoting a positive school ethos.
Key Skills:
- Experience of working within a similar role, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of SEMH and behaviour management strategies.
- Experience of working with pupils from Key Stage 2 up to Key Stage 4.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree or qualification in Education, Social Work or Psychology is desirable, but not essential.
A DBS check is required, as well as satisfactory references.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pupil Support Worker to work within a supportive and dynamic SEMH school in Accrington.
