Pupil Support Worker for SEMH and ASC School

Tradewind are working in partnership with an SEMH and ASC School within Accrington, who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pupil Support Worker to join their team on a 1-2-1 basis.

The SEMH and ASC School within Accrington, is an Ofsted rated good institution that caters to the educational needs of children aged 5 to 18 years old. The school provides outstanding support to pupils with a range of SEMH and ASC needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and stimulating environment. With a strong emphasis on individualised care and education, the school is committed to making a real difference in the lives of these incredible young individuals.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Pupil Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support and guidance to students on a one-to-one basis. Your responsibilities will include:

- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the assigned student, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
- Implementing individualised behaviour management strategies and supporting the student in developing positive coping mechanisms.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create and implement personalised learning plans.
- Monitoring and documenting progress, providing feedback to the school and parents/guardians as necessary.

**Requirements**:

- To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

- Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH and/or ASC needs.
- A strong understanding of SEMH and ASC conditions, along with the ability to employ appropriate strategies and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
