SEA LIFE UK & Ireland are on the lookout for a Mobile Displays Supervisor/Assistant Curator to take on this unique opportunity to provide expert animal husbandry support to any of our 10+ SEA LIFE attractions as and when needed

**What we are looking for**
- Someone with a robust, high-level of practical knowledge of aquatic animal husbandry, associated life support systems and public aquarium procedures, protocols and health and safety.
- Technical expertise in animal care
- Proven experience leading a team and a natural coach, with an inclusive and encouraging leadership style
- A pro at troubleshooting, thinking on your feet, prioritising, making decisions and ultimately taking the lead
- We’d love it if you have a good understanding of zoo licensing standards, processes, and requirements
- Project management experience would be an advantage
- Ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant bioscience, animal care discipline

This is a mobile role, where you’ll be out on assignment at any of our 10+ SEA LIFE attractions in the UK and Ireland as and when needed.

You will have a ‘home base’ at SEA LIFE Weymouth (or another UK SEA LIFE let us know your preferred choice) but you could find yourself out on assignment (sometimes at short notice) to any of our UK and Irish attractions, for anything from a couple of days, a couple of weeks, or even for several months. This will require travel and prolonged stays away from your home base as needed (accommodation is provided when on assignment).

An incredibly broad role, this position exists to provide support when and wherever required, whether that’s a practical pair of hands with daily animal care, or providing leadership and supervisory support at a site, to help when there are vacancies within teams, new exhibits and displays are being installed, major animal transportation, quarantine or relocation activity is taking place, a training need is identified at a particular site, or a specific project or initiative that needs extra help.

You’ll also support with project work as needed, working closely with the UK Head of Conservation, Welfare and Engagement you’ll help drive the continual development and innovation within the animal display areas nationally. That could be coordinating tasks and projects which develop and improve standards, conservation and rescue, records, animal sourcing and specialised training across the UK sites, all to ensure best in class animal welfare and conservation programmes.

This is a permanent full-time role that requires travel to sites within the UK and Ireland. It also includes working a fair share of weekends and bank holidays as required to support aquarium operations as well as providing emergency call out cover.
