Lancashire Double Glazing are one of the largest home improvement companies in the North West. We manufacture, supply and install all aspects of double glazing. Our small accounts team are looking for a trainee payroll assistant to join them. This is an exciting and varied role for someone looking to start their accounts career with plenty of ongoing support and training.

**The role**

You will be responsible for processing the weekly and monthly payrolls across four companies.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- calculating weekly hours from clock reports for over 100 employees
- setting up new employee starters, new sub-contractors and processing leavers
- processing SSP, SPP, SMP, holiday pay, commissions, overtime, tax code changes and attachment of earnings orders
- weekly payments to sub-contractors through CIS ensuring the correct CIS tax deductions are made and the new correct VAT reverse charge rules are applied
- weekly journals and report on overtime
- monitoring sickness and holidays for all employees
- RTI updates, FPS and CIS return
- making monthly PAYE payments to HMRC
- printing and distribution of all payslips and remittances
- all aspects of auto-enrolment pensions admin on Nest
- dealing with queries from employees, sub-contractors, DWP and management
- answering telephone calls, filing, scanning, covering reception and other ad-hoc duties

Ideally qualified or studying towards AAT Level 2 or 3, or A Level in Accounts/Maths/I.T.

Must have advanced skills on Microsoft Excel.

Have a flexible and confident approach to work as you will be the first point of contact for any problems that arise.

Must have an excellent eye for detail, be able to spot mistakes before they are made and be very organised.

Working hours are 8.00am - 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.00am - 4.00pm on Friday. Free parking. 20 days holidays plus 8 statutory bank holidays. Shutdown for Christmas break.
