**Business Intelligence (BI) Developer - x2 for a 12 months FTC**

Do you want to play a key role in continuing the development and enhancement of all Pinnacle Pet Group’s DW/MI/BI solutions during a period of rapid change for the company? This involves the maintenance of the existing data warehouse and reporting stack (SQL Server 2019 and Power BI Server), integrating a new Policy Management system into the DWH, as well as helping with the migration of the DWH to a cloud environment (SQL Azure).

**What will you be doing?**

This will involve developing business requirements, along with solution and data design and build.

The position is very much a hybrid role - the ability to accurately gather and document requirements is as important as the ability to design and build solutions. Also key is the ability to quickly and efficiently analyse data for finding root cause of issues.

The role additionally involves assisting the Lead Developer ensuring all service standards are met and data is structured and handled in line with company data governance guidelines.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Liaise with business areas, project managers and IT functions re new business requirements, working both within project teams and also directly with end-users. To ensure all requirements captured are documented in detail, and continually updated as requirements are refined.
- Build new ETL processes using a combination of SSIS packages and native T-SQL stored procedures.
- Assist with redesign of existing Presentation Layer data architecture to improve ETL performance.
- Find root-cause of any issues quickly and efficiently using targeted data analysis problem-solving skills.
- Ensure existing ETL and reporting is maintained as new partnerships are formed.
- Assist with the migration of the current on-premises DWH to a Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Assist with the integration of a new Policy Management System into the DWH environment.
- Liaise with our partner companies re data and DWH processes, and to help design and build such processes.
- Use experience to mentor other team members in BI technologies and methodologies.
- Assist with the design and build of Data Quality routines.
- To ensure coding meets company standards in terms of the accuracy, efficiency and robustness of the developed code.
- Contribute to the design of Data Warehouse Dimensional Model and understand the structure of source data.
- To document any new procedures/processes developed.
- Resolving and managing incidents and issues, working with other teams, ensuring that the correct solution is reached.

**So what do you need to do the job?**
- Very good T-SQL stored procedure knowledge.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Good understanding of data warehousing concepts including dimensional modelling.
- Experience in business analysis / requirements gathering, and turning the gathered requirements into data solutions.
- Experience in analysing data to find problem root causes, and data analysis that informs.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and succinctly, at all levels, both verbally and in written form.***
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI** **(preferably Power BI Server).
- Attention to detail.
- Proven ability to problem solve independently.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated.
- Flexible.
- Good organisation skills.
