We have a current opportunity for a Safety Assurance and Auditing Manager on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Cambridge at the University.
The role provides the holder with the exciting opportunity to positively contribute to health and safety across the University estate through the management of the University Health and Safety Audit Programme as well as involvement with audits. The productionof comprehensive reports with targeted action plans and recommendations for legal compliance to support departmental compliance will be a key objective. This role is therefore responsible for the development and implementation of an effective Auditing systemon behalf of the Safety Office designed to measure University compliance and identify risks within Departments. The role holder is expected to complete regular reviews of the Audit Programme to ensure continued compliance taking into consideration Universitydevelopments as well as legislative and regulatory updates.
The role holder shall be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of the University Accident and Incident function. By using trend data arising from this source, work with others in the office to deliver Safety Office led campaigns designed to mitigaterisk.
The role holder will manage two Auditors and the Accident and Incidents Manager.
The role holder can expect to also engage in safety project based activities, provide general health and safety training, provide safety advice and answer queries that arise from Departments.
As with other Safety Officers, the role-holder may need to liaise with the Enforcement Authorities (e.g, Health and Safety Executive and the Environment Agency).
