This is an exciting time to work in the Department for International Trade (DIT), a department at the heart of the UK’s relationship with the global economy. **THE TEAM**

The main focus for the Security Team is to protect DIT staff, assets and infrastructure from existing and emerging threats. We work with colleagues across DIT to ensure that the department meets its objectives in a secure manner. As a team we are committed to continuously improving the quality of security service provisioned across DIT, aligned with the Government Security Functional Standards.

**THE ROLE**

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a creative flair and willingness to improve the security culture within DIT through various training, education and awareness methods. You will have the opportunity to lead strands of work including but not exclusive to, developing the security network across the department, coordinating and delivery security communications and training opportunities. This is a great opportunity to observe and be part of the inner workings of Government Security with great emphasis on personal development in a supportive environment.

**Job description**
- **Deliver security awareness training** - you will be organising and assisting delivery of a range of engaging training tools such as presentations, educational gamification and roadshows.
- **Manage the Divisional Security Co-ordinators network - **you will be managing a network of staff across DIT who are responsible for supporting and cascading important messages. This will include but is not limited to producing a monthly newsletter and ensuring their training is up-to-date.
- **Professionalism** - you will be a point of contact for our customers via our mailbox so you will need to develop and maintain a current understanding of government security via the Government Security profession and team members.
- **Ad-hoc tasks** - As part of this role you will be asked to help with a range of projects across the security team.

**Hybrid working**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.

**Person specification**

**Essential Criteria**
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Confident using IT systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be able to occasionally travel to other DIT sites (advance notice will be agreed and flexible working will be taken into account).
- Hold or be willing to undergo SC Clearance.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Strong Customer Service experience with an ability to engage and communicate clearly to understand and meet their requirements.
- Experience working in a communication, staff engagement or similar roles.
- Graphic Design skills.
