**The role**

Orbit are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor on a 12 month FTC to cover a secondment. You will assist the Health & Safety Manager in the implementation and on-going support of a Group wide Health and Safety Management System to ensure legal compliance and continuously improve the H&S infrastructure, systems, compliance, audit, assurance and competency.

This role is part of Corporate Services where you'll help us give colleagues the support they need to be brilliant.

**What you'll achieve**

In this Health & Safety Advisor position you will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and support on all health and safety related issues.
- Responsible for undertaking Health and Safety audits, inspections, investigations and ad-hoc visits
- Responsible for collating data, carrying out statistical analysis to support the Health & Safety Manager with reporting
- Responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures and guidance and ensuring that any updates required are highlighted to the Health & Safety Manager Responsible for providing support to other departments on H&S related issues when necessary.
- Responsible for liaising with external agencies as and when required such as HSE, Fire Authorities and Environmental Health.
- Responsible for the contract management of HSQA systems and providers.

**Essential skills**
- Knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice
- NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
- Tech IOSH or equivalent
- Experienced in developing H&S Management Systems
- Experience of report writing
