Ilkeston, United Kingdom Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to work on the Heanor Ward.

Heanor Ward is currently a 16-bedded ward, of which our patients require assessment and rehabilitation in a nursing setting.

This includes supporting patients with both physical and mental health needs.

We also look after patients who are at the end of their life and this is something we are very passionate about.

We are looking for someone who will contribute and support the team to continually strive for the best for the patients in our care.

Experience of working in a care setting is an advantage alongside having an NVQ in Health related care or equivalent.

It is important that you have a good standard of English and excellent communication skills.

This post involves shift work including days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.

This is 12 month contract.

DCHS is a forward-thinking organisation and we aspire to deliver excellent standards of care, professional development and offer many opportunities to progress.

You will be required to work as part of the team but also work on your own initiative.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

It is Trust policy that for posts that are for a time limited period, applicants who are currently employed by an NHS organisation will only be appointed on a secondment basis and should have approval from their line manager this is possible before applying. Applicants who are not employed by an NHS organisation, will receive a fixed term contract
