Buying Assistant

**BUYING ASSISTANT**

Grape Tree is a leading retailer of high-quality dried fruits, nuts, seeds, superfoods, herbs and spices in the UK and currently have 144 stores nationwide and we are looking to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Buying Assistant to join our team and help us maintain and grow our vast range of high-quality products on offer in our stores and Online website.

Working in a fast-paced retail environment, you will be working at our Head Office based on Pensnett Trading Estate, Kingswinford.

As a Buying Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the procurement of and upkeep of our comprehensive range.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitoring inventory stock levels and placing orders as necessary
- Provide full administrative support to the buying team
- Initiate NPD and market research
- Communicate and develop relationships with internal and external sources
- Competently and confidently answer the phone

Any other buying admin which includes (generating Purchase Orders, creating SKUs on our stock system, ensuring all paperwork arrives with the delivery, informing suppliers of delivery discrepancies and requesting credit notes)

**Requirements**:

- Attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently, but also as a team member
- Experience in retail is desirable but not essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

Ultimately, we require someone who is keen to learn and enthusiastic, works closely as a team player and is good at using their own initiative in order to assist in the effective management of our growing range of products.

This is a full time position and our office hours are Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5pm.
