We are looking for a Network Surveyor to join our Highways Asset Management Team.

**The Team**

The Highway Asset Management Team forms part of the Network Strategy Group within the Highways and Transportation Service Unit. Our team’s core functions are highway maintenance policy and strategy; capital maintenance scheme identification; network management policy and strategy; highway asset valuation; highway asset management system support (Symology: Insight); highway condition monitoring, and identifying asset management service improvements.

**The role**

As a Network Surveyor you will carry out highway asset surveys across the county’s Highways Network. You will carry out driven carriageway condition surveys, walked detailed visual inspection (DVI) surveys of specific asset types (including carriageway, footways, cycleways, drainage assets). In addition, there will be a range of project based tasks including updating asset inventory information.

**What you will bring**

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a full driving licence, you will also have:
- In-depth knowledge of highway construction/maintenance techniques and specifications
- Knowledge of highway safety and relevant codes of practice, and highway assets
- Technical background within Highways Construction/Maintenance and Civil Engineering Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working on site in a highways environment and carrying out highway condition surveys
- Excellent communication both verbal and written with the ability to to complete accurate records
- ICT skills including Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn how to use new systems
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, ensuring timescales are met
- Ability to interpret drawings, plans and specifications

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of carrying out highway condition surveys but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
