Role Purpose
Ensure compliance with government requirements in delivering mandatory and discretionary services to vulnerable clients.
Provide a professionally qualified and comprehensive surveying and technical service to clients and technical advice to the HIA team to meet Supporting People and individual performance standards.
Responsibilities
To inspect and Survey clients’ homes and provide HIA staff and clients with technical assessment and advice regarding repairs and improvements.
To prepare drawings, schedules of works or schedule of rates and specifications as required for Building Control, Planning Authorities and Grant approval to agreed timescales.
To manage the individual workload from initial inspection to completion, to meet performance targets set by the council, Supporting People and other funders and stakeholders.
To carry out structural surveys of dwellings to determine eligibility for grant assistance and to discuss with the applicant the nature and extent of the proposed works to ensure compliance with The Housing Act, planning, building regulations and grant legislation.
Site meetings with applicants, builders, managing agents and surveyors to discuss works in progress and valuations for payments.
Liasing with Building Control, Town Planning, Law and Administration, Finance and Environmental Health Departments, regarding Building Regulations, planning consents, proof of title, and other matters in connection with grant applications.
Preparation of reports on cases for consideration by the adaptations board of above £15k and executive board above £30k.
To prepare technical drawings using Autocad and detailed schedules of works.
To act as contract administrator for clients who have opted to use the “stayput” service.
