Butler Rose are currently working with a renowned manufacturer based in Plymouth, who are currently seeking a talented Senior Buyer with expertise in managing direct spend to join their dynamic team.

The Role:
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely supply of purchased materials and services, while maintaining cost-effectiveness, safety, and quality. Your responsibilities will include:

- Owning and managing the total cost of ownership and supplier relationships for designated commodity groups, with a supplier spend ranging from £10-30m (depending on experience and commodity group ownership).
- Conducting strategic sourcing activities and leading ongoing Supplier Relationship Management initiatives for all suppliers in the assigned category group.
- Collaborating with Operations and other stakeholders across the business to drive continuous improvement in the supply of goods and services.
- Analysing commodity and market pricing to make informed decisions.
- Negotiating and constructing supply contracts.
- Sourcing business-wide services and non-production materials.
- Assessing make vs. buy options and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Evaluating multiple market solutions, including low-cost country sourcing opportunities.

To Excel in This Role

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing background such as Automotive or FMCG industries.
- CIPS or equivalent qualifications would be preferred, but not essential.
- Familiarity with business enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement technologies would be desirable.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills at all levels, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and embrace change.
