**Hourly rate** £11.50 per hour

**Hours**: *21hr/wk over 3 days _(Permanent after 3mth successful probation period_

**Current opening days of shop**: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with hour for lunch between 12.30pm-1.30pm

**About Cowper’s Mobility Centre**

Set up over 11yrs ago and trading as part of Joseph Cowper Ltd which itself established in 1899, Cowper’s Mobility Centre is a mobility retailer specialising in items such as mobility scooters, rollators, wheelchairs, rise & reclining chairs, and Daily Living aids accessories. Our reputation is that of a helpful, caring customer service-based company with a strict no pressure sales environment.

We are also a service provider for the Care Equipment for Daily Living scheme which works very closely with the NHS Occupational Therapy teams to assist patients to live independently in their own homes.

**Minimum Requirements for the role of Sales Advisor**:

- **Must** be educated to *GCSE level or above (*or similar) including passes at Maths and English
- **Must be able to show empathy** towards customers’ needs and have a positive, friendly attitude towards customers and fellow work colleagues
- **Must **have good telephone manner
- **Must** have previous experience of cashing handling/retail work
- **Must** be able to both selling & demonstrate mobility equipment in the shop e.g. scooters
- **Must be an excellent communicator** with both customers and other healthcare professionals
- This job involves bending, carrying, packing, unpacking & assembling **large** **items**/deliveries which is **physical work and involves using basic tools, so a practical aptitude would be an advantage**:

- Previous experience in the care industry may be an advantage

**Role of Sales Advisor**:

- As a Sales Advisor you will be required to learn about and sell all types of mobility equipment from simple Aids to Daily Living, Rollators, Wheelchairs, Mobility Scooters and Riser/Recliner chairs etc.
- You will be required to advise and sell incontinence products
- Till and cash handling
- You will be required to input basic data using excel spreadsheets
- You will take deliveries, assemble mobility equipment (training given) and dispense prescription equipment to our visiting Healthcare professionals e.g. Bed Lever or Commode
- Participate in all H&S Training as directed by the Manager
- Help maintain appropriate stock levels in the shop
- Support the ethos of Joseph Cowper Ltd where we pride ourselves on excellent customer service and integrity at all times
- The willingness to learn and take part in additional training is essential
