Robert Half are working exclusively on a retained search with a Manufacturing business in Daventry to recruit for a Junior/Assistant Finance Manager. This role could be for someone that has management experience or looking to step up.

**JOBPURPOSE**

The position holder must ensure the effective and efficient management of the company's Financial and Administration functions, provide accurate and timely financial information to the Board of Directors and management team as required and ensure that thecompany has a robust financial framework.

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day management of the Finance and Administration function and personnel, to provide a culture of a continuous improvement including the implementation and management of effective policies and procedures.
- Produce monthly management accounts including commentary in-line with company reporting deadlines.
- Ensure all necessary accounting requirements and processes, i.e., cash books, bank reconciliations, credit control, plus any other financial tasks which may be identified are completed accurately and in line with Company guidelines.
- Ensure that the company operates a robust system of financial control making recommendations to the Finance Director or Board of Directors as necessary.
- Reconcile the monthly balance sheet to ensure that all necessary journals are posted, and all balancing items are identified, corrected, or noted as required.
- Support the Finance Director in managing accounting requirements for two overseas sister companies.
- Develop, prepare, and issue monthly sales statistics as required by Directors, sales manager, and sales team.
- Prepare, develop, and issue ad-hoc sales and financial reports as required by Directors and management.
- Assist in the management, preparation and submission of any reporting required for company financing purposes.
- Assist in the preparation and management of all statutory reporting requirements, including VAT returns, HMRC requirements and year end Audits.
- Assist in the preparation, management and variance reporting of departmental and company budgets ensuring that these are in-line with key stakeholder requirements.
- Attend regular management meetings to ensure a high level of effective communication between departments.
- To develop, document and communicate effective systems and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards, including management of BSI 9001-2015 compliance.
- Act as the companies Data Protection Officer ensuring that the company acts in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Provide advice to the Directors and Senior Managers on all financial matters.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

The job holder should have a background and recognised qualification in Finance and experience within a busy, fast paced office environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems is essential.
- Ability to manage nominal codes, budgets, P&L
- A flexible and adaptable attitude, able to work towards the needs of the business.
- Proven multi-tasking experience, and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to learn new systems and highly loyal and confidential attitude
- Accurate with good attention to detail.
- Previous line management experience is desirable but not essential.
- Part qualification in ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
