Job Overview

This is a newly created role at Strata and we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Venue Finding Specialist that can really hit the ground running and support across all of our Account teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Create a template for briefs that can be used widely across the business
- Client Profiling: in-depth knowledge of all clients, number of events per year, previous destinations, their event requirements and budgets by spending time with each Account Director/Team
- Ongoing ABPI Pharma code training to understand the agency’s responsibility and parameters when sourcing venues for pharma clients
- Work with Finance team to understand tax (both UK and overseas), commission and client contracts
- Review and further develop our venue finding processes to ensure efficiency and profitability
- Submitting RFPs
- Negotiate best rates, added-value and creative solutions
- Vetting proposals before sharing with account teams ensuring all criteria have been met
- Train and develop other colleagues should the need arise for additional support
- Be the main point of contact for all of our suppliers (hotels, DMCs, venues etc.) and nurture these relationships
- Manage and host sale visits to the office, or virtually, with suppliers
- Intelligence sharing with the team via a quarterly newsletter
- Attend industry trade shows (EIBTM, IMEX, The Meetings Show etc), new openings, familiarisation trips and educational events with a desire to continually improve your own product knowledge
- Be a trusted advisor to all clients within this specialist area and the go-to person for your peers within the agency
- Support with site inspections, if needed
- Build a centralised supplier database that is continuously updated

**Essential Experience & Skills**:

- At least 5 years significant experience within the M&E or Venue Sourcing industry
- Good UK & International venue and destination knowledge
- Confident and skilled negotiator
- Excellent relationships with industry suppliers
- Good client service ethic and desire to deliver the very best solutions
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, patient and well-organised
- Knowledge of Cvent desirable
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Strong organisational skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work autonomously and as a part of a team
- Pro-active and show initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Educated to degree level (ideal but not essential)
- Language skills (useful but not essential)
