**Job Title: Customer Services Assistant**

**Reporting to: Customer Services Manager**

**Location: Gateshead**

**Type: Full time, fixed term contract - 7 months**

**Rate of pay: £11.50 ph**

**Who we are**

The Great Run Company specialise in the development, design and organisation of some of the largest mass participation, televised sporting events across the country including the Great Run Series, Great Swim Series & our new Ultra Series. We own a portfolio of over 38 individual events delivered annually through running, and swimming. The events see over 300,000 participants taking part each year, securing over 25 hours of television programmes and include performances from some of the world's best athletes.

**The job**

We are looking for a fixed term Customer Services Assistant to join us and help ensure we deliver excellent customer services and support during our exciting and busy events period from April to October 2023.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Manage the merchandise orders and exchange requests.
- Manage the post-race requests, potential results queries, and finisher item requests.
- Assisting with the management and producing the results for the Team Challenge
- Assist the Customer Services manager with entry requirements from event sponsors.
- Work with colleagues on process improvements that will improve the customer experience.
- The postholder will have the opportunity to travel to help deliver the events and assist with queries face-to-face.

- Customer focused, with great listening skills.
- Pro-active, taking ownership of all customers queries
- Excellent telephone manner exuding positivity, understanding, and patience
- Strong written English skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player
- Demonstrates the Great Run values.

**Experience**:

- Experience of working in a customer facing role
- Able to demonstrate a background where strong communication skills have been required
