Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow G51 4TF, Paediatric Highly Specialist Orthoptist Band 7 post £46,244 - £53,789 pro rata 37.5hrs per week, permanent post.

We require two enthusiastic and experienced Orthoptists with an interest working with children who have complex physical and/or sensory issues and their families/carers. The Paediatric Orthoptic service covers the population of Glasgow and acts as a tertiary referral centre for the West of Scotland. The department provides a service to children with a wide range of complex medical needs and works with families and carers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will work alongside other experienced Paediatric Orthoptists and as part of the Paediatric Ophthalmology team. Audit/Research is actively encouraged with a strong commitment to professional development of staff. One role is to lead the paediatric neuro-ophthalmology and the strabismus surgical service, while the other is to lead the paediatric oncology and virtual paediatric ophthalmology service. A diploma/degree in Orthoptics, 5 years post graduate experience in paediatric ophthalmology and HCPC registration are essential.

The hours are worked; Monday - Friday 8.45am - 4.45pm
