ROLE PURPOSE The Head of Governance and Quality is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring and enhancing the quality of care and services provided by St Peter & St James Charitable Trust. This role oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, transparency, and accountability. The Head of Governance and Quality will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including the Executive Team, Trustees, clinical staff, volunteers, and external regulatory bodies, to continuously improve the quality of care delivered and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain a comprehensive Governance and Quality framework, policies, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Oversee the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance programs, including clinical audits, incident reporting, risk management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain effective governance structures and processes, including board governance, committee structures, and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance and accountability. Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategic Governance and Quality objectives and initiatives. Provide leadership and support to clinical staff in understanding and complying with Governance and Quality standards, policies, and processes.

Monitor and analyse quality metrics and data, identify trends, and report to the Executive Team and relevant committees. Lead and support the preparation for external regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation. Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in Governance and Quality, and proactively implement relevant updates and modifications.Engage with all departments to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and coordination in achieving Governance and Quality goals.

Provide regular reports to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders on Governance and Quality performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate actions.
