We are now looking for a Communications and Community Engagement Year in Industry Placement This is a role for someone with energy and enthusiasm for engaging with local people and stakeholders, proven talent in communicating to many different types of people, and keen to be involved in the offshore wind sector. You are eager to learn the ropes and take your first steps to building a career within a company that is committed to driving best practise in stakeholder and community engagement. You are full of ideas on how to engage effectively, including with young people and with younger working-age people. We’re looking for someone who is creative, an excellent communicator, and a great listener.

You will be based in Norfolk, supporting a Senior Stakeholder and Community Engagement Manager and Community Liaison Officer, ensuring local people and businesses in the region are well informed about the projects’ forthcoming construction works, know how to get in touch with us, and together, optimise and encourage local-value added from our projects.

Your Responsibilities as Stakeholder & Community Engagement Advisor

In this role you will:

- Be out and about in the community, facilitating community and stakeholder engagement associated with the Norfolk Zone, and optimizing the opportunities they can unlock, in order to deliver excellent, sustainable development projects.
- Support the design and delivery of the Communications and Engagement Strategy and Plan
- Write editorial content for the project website and activities (such as reports).
- Create and update communication tools (such as flyers, brochures, presentations, use social-media channels )
- You’ll help write up some great case studies, and devise ways to ensure people can be inspired by them.
- Representing Vattenfall in stakeholder forums. Enabling a greater understanding of the role of offshore wind in delivering fossil freedom, improved energy security and ultimately, cheaper energy for the Danish consumer.
- Support local supply chain engagement and ways to maximize the benefits associated with the projects, including helping to set up and run “meet the buyer” events
- Promoting a safety-conscious and sustainable environment.

Location
The role will be based in Norfolk. You will be required to spend time in the project areas, linking directly with local stakeholders, residents and communities of interest. There will be opportunities too for international travel.

**Profile**:
Your profile as Stakeholder & Community Engagement Advisor
- Strong people skills, with an engaging, and open nature; an active listener, able to develop a positive rapport with a wide range of people.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
- You are studying for a degree, preferably in Communications, Psychology, or other related social science or business

You will demonstrate:

- Experience of stakeholder engagement, and involving communities and stakeholders in projects that affect them, for example local or student activities relating to practical climate action. Experience of major infrastructure projects, would be highly desirable, but is not required.
- Creative, with experience of producing bespoke communications materials and digital content with excellent IT and digital skills.
- An interest in how major infrastructure projects benefit the regions in which they are developed and in the business of developing ground-breaking, economically-viable infrastructure projects.
- Flexible and able to multi-task, and work rapidly to deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- A driver’s license - the ability to get to different parts of norfolk, potentially not served by public transport
