We have an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and driven Deputy Director of External Communications, Engagement Public Affairs to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Engagement, the Deputy Director will have the opportunity to influence at the highest level in the Trust, across the health system and nationally. Playing a vital leadership role, you will demonstrate a highly strategic approach to communications which will add real value to our organisation and the communities we serve.

As an innovative and professional engagement specialist, you will develop strategies to build relationships with the broadest range of stakeholders. The successful candidate must share our commitment to providing the communities we serve with excellent healthcare, aiming to see service users at the right time, attracting and retaining the best staff, and providing services that always put patients first.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to demonstrate the inclusive leadership needed to develop a high quality working environment, embedding our vision of safer, kinder, better in every aspect of our organisation's work. Regardless of whether your experience has been gained in the NHS or in a wider complex and politically sensitive setting, you will be able to show us a track record of success at a senior level with a large-scale multi-site communications function.

You will be skilled at influencing a diverse range of stakeholders and delivering large scale change whilst implementing organisation wide communication systems. Our new Deputy Director will be tenacious, resilient and creative. They will be an inspirational leader who is who is excited by the prospect of change and the strategic opportunities this offers, and who is adept in communicating with and engaging our staff and the wider population in these changes.
