**Job summary**:
The role sits within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). The primary purpose of this role is to support the Head of Portfolio Governance & Assurance to provide programme and project governance & assurance services and support across Parliament. This involves the delivery of Assurance Reviews, management of Portfolio Start Up/Closure Processes, leadership of Lessons Learned Management and a focus on strategies to address the themes and recommendations.

The post holder will report to the Head of Governance and Assurance.

**Job description**:
Some of the responsibilities include:

- Support the EPMO Assurance Co-ordinator by overseeing and developing an agreed forward plan of Gateway Reviews-aligned with best practice -by liaising with Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), Programme Directors, Programme and Project Managers across Parliament, and Internal Audit as required. Assist with the management of reviews as required
- Develop and manage all Level 3 independent project assurance follow up actions, including the categorisation and analysis of review recommendations to support assurance reporting; tracking and identification of themes for lessons learned, links to risk mitigation, development of recommendations for and managing corrective actions

**Skills and Experience**
- Understanding of portfolio, programme and project management principles, including an appreciation for the differences between waterfall and agile approaches.
- Understanding of the principles associated with integrated assurance services for a large and diverse portfolio of programmes and projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships and influence people at all levels within the organisation including a challenging customer base.
- Track record of building inclusive stakeholder relationships, considering equality and diversity
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal confidently and credibly with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of compiling and publishing management information in support of management boards and groups
