Due to the planned integration of the current Nutrition & Dietetics, and Weight Management Services within ABUHB, an exciting opportunity for 2 new leadership posts are available as Deputy Heads of Service. As professionally registered dietitians, directly supporting the Head of the new unified Service, the new posts will work together cohesively to deliver strategic and operational management within the newly formed service of Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management. Both services hold a high profile within the Health Board and these positions will be key to ensuring this continues as a newly integrated service.

The 2 Deputy Heads of Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management Services, with the Head of Service, will ensure service and organisational objectives and priorities are met to a high level of quality and patient safety. The roles will be key to inspire and support staff and shape the culture of the newly integrated service.

The post holders will have a wide experience of senior professional leadership. They will be competent in managing professional governance and have a well-developed skill set both clinically and professionally to ensure a safe, effective and dynamic service is delivered. The post holders will have experience of influencing at a senior level, working with other professional managers across Therapies on directorate priorities, and be passionate about taking the dietetic profession forward through key quality improvements.
- The post holders will undertake the role of Deputy to the Head of Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management Services within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and support the day-to-day operational management of the Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management across the Health Board. They will provide professional leadership and undertake the operational management for a discrete area of the service, this will include direct clinical input on occasions.
- They will work with the Head of Service and leadership team to plan and deliver the long-term departmental strategy, in line with organisational and professional direction, ensuring plans are developed in line with the prudent principles reflecting safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency. 
- They will support the Head of Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management in performance management of the whole of the Nutrition, Dietetic and Weight Management Service to meet Health Board objectives including financial and Welsh Government targets, along with the planning and delivery of the governance agenda.
- The post holder will be responsible and accountable for a designated area of the budget to include the whole Nutrition, Dietetics & Weight Management budget. They will be responsible for holding budget for several service functions, within the overall service structure.
