**Job Role**:
Weare seeking a positive, team-focused, relational Trust and Grants Officer tojoin our small but creative and busy Fundraising area of the Programmes Team.

**Job Purpose**:
**CoreTasks**
- Withthe support of the Head of Community and Business Development and the ChiefOfficer for Programmes, take ownership of a portfolio of small to medium grantmakers, contributing towards a shared annual income target.
- Plan,research and work collaboratively with the team to submit successful tenderproposals
- Monitorlocal tendering portals for opportunities relevant to YMCA work.

**Cultivatepositive relationships with funders**:

- Ensurethe supporters and funders receive timely and relevant thank you messaging,correspondence, reporting and updates about the work of YMCA.

**ProspectResearch**:

- Usingtrust finding databases and the charity commission website, researchprospective grant makers and develop a pipeline of funders, in a way thatremains consistent with the values and ethos of YMCA
- Identifysuitable projects within YMCA that can be packaged as compelling fundingopportunities

**OtherRequirements**:

- Contributeto the teams meetings of the Programmes Team
- Ensureyou uphold the values and ethos of YMCA Black Country Group
- Ensuresafeguarding best practice is embedded within your work
- Occasionalopportunities to attend conferences and events, both nationally andinternationally.

A sound working knowledge of windows-based software, including word, excel and outlook.

A commitment to team working within the Programmes team and the wider organisation.

Fundraising experience.

Specific knowledge of how to raise funds from charitable trusts and grant making foundations.

**Skills**

Excellent spoken and written English in order to present information clearly and concisely.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Able to think laterally to tailor communications to create personal connections with prospective and current funders.

Strong administration skills.

Ability to be self-motivated.

Able to read and interpret charitable end of year accounts.

Able to work well with numbers.

Working positively and contributing to a healthy team environment.

Working and thriving in a high performing/high pressure environment.

Knowledge and experience of adhering to data handling, GDPR and codes of conduct.

Experience of fundraising in a professional setting, particularly from Trusts and charitable foundations.
