Overview:
The Electrical Carbon Business of Morgan Advanced Materials designs and manufactures a broad range of high performance solutions for rotary transfer systems, linear transfer systems and electrical carbon systems.

**Responsibilities**:
The Process Engineer is a key member of the Technical Team, with responsibility to develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure continuous production of advanced carbon materials that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

The role requires a ‘hands on’ individual who can balance the theoretical with the practical aspects of the job, coupled with the interpersonal skills to drive through improvements.

Essential Functions:
Investigate and resolve technical issues that may arise in the manufacturing process or products.
Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency.
Development of manufacturing processes, including raw material specifications, mixing, forming, and heat treatment processes, and equipment specifications.
Provide the key materials science expertise into development projects to enhance material, process or product performance.
Design, organise and carry out material development, production and processing trials at pilot and production scales.
Represents process engineering on cross-functional teams, supporting other functions to achieve business objectives.
Assist in the research, specification and implementation of Capital Expenditure projects which are beneficial to the company and support installation where necessary.
Support a culture of Continuous improvement using Lean six sigma tools across site
Embrace the ThinkSafe culture and proactive in reporting near misses and ‘Don’t Walk By’ observations.

Qualifications:
Degree educated ideally in a Materials Science/Engineering discipline.
Able to work independently as well as working effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
Demonstrate problem analysis and problem-solving skills adopting Six Sigma methodology.
Must be confident in carrying out project work, cooperating with operators on plant and taking responsibility for driving projects to completion.
Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to build solid working relationships employees at all levels.
