Are you an experienced Category Buyer with a can-do attitude? Our client is looking for an experienced buyer to develop and manage suppliers, improve controls and processes and support in costing down initiatives. **Responsibilities**:

- Manage and develop existing suppliers in defined spend areas and manage supplier negotiations
- Identify and deliver year on year cost down opportunities always ensuring best value for money
- Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure optimum quality, prices and delivery on defined parts to support minimising inventory
- Actively represent procurement on cross functional project teams such as improvement projects and NPI
- Deliver an optimal supply chain that provides product to the business at the required level of quality, price and terms
- Identify, control and manage risk within defined categories to ensure any risk has been mitigated and ensure full compliance to Group standards
- Responsible for sourcing and introduction of new components and suppliers in line with company procedures
- Lead and carry out RFQs/ Tenders to support supplier rationalisation, NPI and new second sourcing strategies
- Play a leading role in reduction of embedded carbon within the supply chain

**Skills and experience required**:

- 3-4 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and experience working with an ERP system
- Experience in leading and carrying out tenders
- Experience introducing new suppliers/ components
- Advanced Excel experience
- Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills
- Full driving license
