**Overall Purpose of the Role**:

This role is designed to support the development and delivery of the national STEM agenda to enhance recruitment and provide interventions which will minimise the gender imbalance within the Engineering Technology Department.

This role will be effected through a combination of STEM technology activities within the schools sector and bespoke programmes (e.g. Shell Girls into Energy, Go4Set, Big Bang, F1 in Schools, 4x4 Challenge, Technology Challenge, Hydrogen Challenge, Speedy STEM, and
Technogames) to inspire and enthuse young people and demonstrate the possibilities of

A specific goal is to increase the uptake of STEM interventions and study within the
Engineering Technology Department

**Key Responsibilities**

2. Establish and maintain regular links with; industrial partners, schools and local delivery partners.

3. Co-ordinate STEM activity and delivery, working with the school community and local delivery partners to maintain a comprehensive STEM activity calendar and activity log.

4. Participate and deliver school-based STEM experiences.

5. Build and maintain a database of information, contacts and reviews of STEM activity to establish a delivery opportunity that is comprehensive, inclusive, giving equality of opportunity as part of a continuum of evolving experience from primary through secondary to College and beyond.

6. Develop links and partnerships with relevant external bodies and engineering employers to ensure relevance of delivery and support of the Engineering Technology Department STEM

development.

7. Engagement and delivery of STEM events local, national and international.

8. Develop generic life skills and interview techniques through assessment centres or similar ensuring that our students are prepared for “real world” interviews and have the necessary essential skills to successfully participate in interview scenarios.

Previously held supervisory responsibilities interview and experience of organising and delivery

External Verification record keeping.

**Skills/ **Very good organisational skills.

**Attributes **Able to liaise with external clients to promote the College and build effective working
relationships.

Excellent communication skills.

Approachable, supportive and self-motivated.

Able to use own initiative.

**Relevant **travel therefore a valid driving licence and
