**What you will do**:
Your primary responsibility will be the procurement / purchasing of all goods, services and materials required for the Tamworth site that are not procured by H.B. Fuller’s central sourcing team. You will perform administrative tasks involved in the purchasing process, collecting, and disseminating the information needed to purchase materials, in order to ensure that what is purchased arrives on schedule and meets the requirements.
As a trusted member of our UK Tamworth Site Purchasing Team, you will:
- Work with internal stakeholders (Planning, Materials Management, Production, R&D, Quality etc.) to determine supply needs and perform the administrative process of purchasing these items. Where relevant, this is done based on the existing stocks, production plans and forecasts from the relevant departments:
- Identify the quantity, price, and approved suppliers
- Prepare purchase orders
- Keep track of purchases making sure it arrives on schedule and meets requirements.
- Follow up with providers in case of delayed, lost, or damaged shipments
- Prepare, maintain, and review the documents related to the whole process of purchasing materials.
- Liaise with warehouse and distribution team as required to agree items delivery times, ex-works collections etc.
- Check unit values and conditions of purchase made, identifying, and transmitting to Accounts Payable Department the documents and information required to manage debit and accounting.
- Establish and maintain a good relationship with all suppliers.
- Participate in the inventory counts.
- Prepare periodic reports detailing purchase price data, supplier performance and opportunities for service and cost saving opportunities.
- Perform all the purchasing activities in compliance with the Integrated Management System, respecting the principles set out in the Internal Policies of HB Fuller and all Procedures and Work Instructions established.
- Ensure that all processes under own responsibility comply and follow COSO / SOX requirements and are aligned with the applicable process narratives.
- In case any non-conformity is detected (either on the Quality of the materials or on the Service provided), ensure that an official claim is placed as per our internal procedures. Do periodic follow up of all open claims / complaints.
- Optimize inventory levels as to reduce working capital but keeping the service levels on target.
- Assist with ensuring that all procedures and work instructions included on the Quality and Environmental Management Systems are followed.
**About You**:
You are a confident, proactive stakeholder centric Purchasing Specialist. You have previous experience in working closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders (Planning, Materials Management, Production, R&D, Quality etc.), to determine supply needs and perform the administrative process of purchasing these items based on the existing stocks, production plans and forecasts from the relevant departments:
- Educated to degree or equivalent level (SCM preferrable)
- 3 + years of experience in purchasing - this is a **must have**
- Fluency in English
- Good SAP & MS Office Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Detailed-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with our industry (Chemicals) is a plus
