**Job summary**:
This role sits within the Future Network Programmes (FNP) team reporting to the Head of Operations, but with a dotted line into the Head of Market Development who will direct many comms and marketing related activities. Working alongside colleagues in the comms team and wider FNP unit, you will help to provide communications and marketing engagement leadership and support across FNP teams and Digital Infrastructure.

You will support management in helping to achieve comms related objectives. You will work alongside Market Development and Programme Development and help to increase the profile of both external and internal activities.

**Job description**:
**Key Deliverables/Responsibilities and Tasks**
- Managing the Programme’s approach to communications and marketing, announcing new interventions and promoting live projects through appropriate channels.
- Overseeing the Programme’s event management and marketing engagement strategy across different programmes.
- Creating written, video and digital content which will be disseminated across various marketing channels including UKTIN, social media, and direct marketing channels.
- Leading on the comms activities and plans for the 5G Adoption and Shared Outcomes Fund (SOF) programmes.
- Involved with other projects and programmes as required including Future Telecoms.
- Overseeing project communications, ensuring that this is tracked and developing insights for improvement.
- Ensuring communications from the Programme remain ‘on brand’ and work closely with DSIT Press and Private Offices to augment comms efforts.
- Making sure comms and marketing requests are dealt with in a timely manner and escalating accordingly if bottlenecks occur
- Line management of a Band B Communications Officer

**Person specification**:
Essential requirements:

- Experience of working within a communications or marketing environment;
- Experience of operating in a fast-paced environment, rigorous prioritisation and managing a varied portfolio;
- The ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines;
- Proven ability to establish relationships with a range of stakeholders to support the delivery of Programme objectives;
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail;
- Sound judgement to inform good decisions, and the ability to quickly get up to speed with a broad range of work areas;
- A collaborative approach to working with others and strong interpersonal skills;
- The ability to persuade and influence senior managers and stakeholders to achieve Programme outcomes;
- Experience reviewing and clearing external documentation for publication;
- Line management experience.

Desirable skills:

- Understanding of and experience of creating content for internal, external and social media purposes for varying audiences;
- Experience managing a grant or contract;
- Project management experience or experience in a delivery role;
