**Salary**: £23,866 (SCP 26) pro rata to hours worked

**Job Summary/Main purpose of the job**:

Main Duties:
**Teaching and Leading Student Learning**
- Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students through clearly written and regularly reviewed schemes of work. Monitor implementation in the classroom through regular monitoring.
- Ensure teachers are clear about teaching objectives and provide guidance on methodology.
- To develop and promote workshops, play schemes, sports development and other activities to engage young people and provide a more holistic approach to learning.

**Planning and Setting Expectations/Student Achievement**
- Plan the academic year to incorporate staff meetings, pupil registration, pupil assessments, holiday programmes, parent’s consultations and celebration days.
- Set expectations and targets for staff and students in relation to student achievement and monitor progress towards these targets.

**Assessment and Evaluation**
- Establish and implement clear practices for assessing recording and reporting on student achievement.
- Keep written records, photographs, case studies and other evidence to provide regular reports on the school to Hamara management and external funders.

**Relationship with Parents and the Wider Community**
- Establish effective communication with parents, provide support and intervention workshops and training for parents in order to tackle underachievement on two fronts.
- Develop links with the local community to extend and enhance the work of the school.
- Develop links with local primary schools and carry out outreach when necessary.

**Manage Own Performance and Professional Development**
- Keep abreast of new curriculum thinking, developments in teaching and learning practice, and examination syllabuses.
- Be aware of developments at KS1 & 2, attend training and professional development courses relevant to the role.

**Managing and Developing Staff and Other Adults**
- Recruit and carry out induction for staff within the school.
- Upkeep staff files and record hours worked in order to submit invoices for sessional staff delivering activities for the project.
- Support colleagues in their management of student behaviour and help staff achieve constructive working relationships with students.
- Devolve responsibilities and delegate tasks appropriately, recognising and utilising the strengths of others.
- Sustain motivation and commitment; promote enthusiasm, creativity and a collective pride in the success of the team.
- Be concerned for the professional development of colleagues.
- Provide full and regular feedback to team members, through staff meetings, briefings and memos.
- Encourage team involvement in school-wide initiatives and in the development of whole-school policy.

**Managing Resources**
- Order and contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of school equipment. - Ensure the effective and efficient management and organisation of learning resources.
- Ensure that there is a safe working and learning environment in which risks are properly assessed.

**Strategic Leadership**
- Establish, with the involvement of the line-manager, plans for developing and resourcing the school to bring about continuous improvement in teaching and learning and resulting student achievement.
- Liaise with management and finance to budget annually and work within financial remits to deliver the project activities.
- Seek out opportunities to secure funding to sustain and develop the project on an annual basis.
