**Head of the Management and Organisations Department**:
**Leeds University Business School is one of the most highly regarded UK Business Schools recognised for excellence in research and education. We are looking for an experienced academic who can provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage a programme of strategic development in the Management and Organisations Department. As the Head of Department, you will create a culture in which people are inspired, motivated and developed to achieve their full potential and lead the department to deliver world-leading research and an exceptional student experience in an international and interdisciplinary context.**

You will be joining the Leeds University Business School (LUBS) and the leadership team at an exciting time as we embark on the next phase of developing and implementing our new school structure to support our vision and strategy of maximising strategic opportunities whilst leading and delivering excellence in research and education.

You will lead and manage the Management and Organisations Department, one of our newly created departments which will come into effect on 1 July 2024 and has been created following the significant growth and success of our current Management Department within LUBS. In this key leadership position, you will have the unique opportunity to play a pivotal role to shape, develop and nurture a cohesive community for the new department. You will achieve this by bringing both colleagues and academic identities together. This offers the latitude to create and promote innovative directions in teaching and research that supports the School's strategic plans and objectives.

The Management and Organisations Department seeks to understand how organisations meet their goals, exploring the influence of human behaviour, leadership, organisational structure, strategic management and innovation. Specific expertise lies in improving management practice through understanding organisational behaviour and its interaction with work systems, exploring factors that shape innovation processes, and entrepreneurship in challenging environments. The department is a focal point for enterprise education and enhancing management learning.

As an active member of the University’s Leadership Forum and the Faculty Executive Group you will promote a coordinated approach to delivering innovative strategic academic development. You will be taking on a significant and complex leadership role in the Faculty and must be able to work collaboratively and lead with a clear vision, engaging others across the Department, Faculty and University.

You will have an inspirational and inclusive leadership style with demonstrable change management skills, ambition and creativity to drive and embed a positive culture supporting our values and taking forward the development and delivery of the School’s academic strategy and objectives. You will thrive on working collaboratively in a busy and dynamic environment to enhance the reputation of the School with a focus on quality and excellence.

Academic credibility is essential. You will have a sustained track record of excellence in research and/or student education, combined with exceptional leadership and management capabilities alongside an international reputation as an authority in a relevant field. You will be able to demonstrate commitment to nurturing an inclusive environment for students and staff, alongside a personal commitment to our values of collaboration, compassion, inclusivity and integrity.

**Stakeholder meetings and interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday 29 November 2023.**
