Facilities Assistant

Are you a proactive and reliable individual looking for a new opportunity within the facilities team? We are currently seeking a Facilities Assistant to join our team and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our members and visitors.

The Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic and contemporary venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room and Heritage Cafe, Cheltenham Town Hall and the Garden Bar, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales stadium. We deliver a wide range of services and activities including hires and events, festivals and shows, exhibitions, leisure, cafes and in-house catering.
Leisure at Cheltenham is a community-focused leisure centre. We offer a wide range of fitness facilities, swimming pools, sports courts, and recreational areas for our members and guests. We are committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all our visitors, and we are currently looking for a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team.
**Key Role Responsibilities**:
- Performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and refurbishment tasks across the leisure centre.
- Carrying out regular deep cleaning tasks.
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.
- Monitoring cleaning supplies stock
- Ensuring equipment, activity areas, and storage areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
- Conducting safety checks on equipment within your area of responsibility and promptly reporting any damage or malfunctions to the Duty Manager.
- Assisting in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including setting up and dismantling equipment, and making minor repairs or replacements when needed.
- Understanding and adhering to emergency procedures (emergency action plan) for the Trust Venues and assisting with incidents as required.
**Knowledge, skills and experience**:
- At least one year experience working in a similar role
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Awareness of Health and Safety Standards and COSHH would be beneficial
- First Aid at Work (desirable)
**Benefits**:
- Permanent contract (up to 16 hours per week)
- Pro rata Salary £8693.20 per annum
- Some evening and weekend working
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pro-rata

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
Expected hours: 1 - 16 per week
