**Job Advert**:
**We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in Borehamwood working 37.5 hours per week.**

**What does a Support Worker do?**

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.
- At this service we have supported living accommodation with 11 flats across two buildings for adults with learning disabilities. We give 1:1support to adults to help them to access the community to do shopping, banking and activities. Supporting adults within their home to achieve daily tasks such as cooking and cleaning. The people we support range in age from 40 to 80. The ideal support worker will be an enthusiastic individual that is motivated to support an individual to achieve positive outcomes and meet goals within their life that will enhance their quality of life.

Three of the adults that will require support with mobility and personal care. Otherwise they happy to travel via public transport.

Typical responsibilities may include:

- **Supporting people to live independently** - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- **Excellent communication skills and Relationship building **- supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- **Community & Social Inclusion** - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- **Personal care** - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
