Independent Living Officer

**The Role**
As an Independent Living Officer you will be responsible for the day to day running of a City Council Independent Living scheme, for this role the scheme is Beck View in Lancaster. Beck View is a CAT2 scheme, which includes 40 flats, communal laundry, lounges and gardens.
You must be capable of demonstrating a sincere commitment to the support of older adults, possess good organisational, customer focused and social skills and be of a calm, patient disposition with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation, whilst under pressure. An understanding of community care and the ability to deal with any situation, as and when it arises, in an efficient and effective way, is essential.
A full current UK driving licence is essential. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working Monday to Friday. This post is based at Beck View, Lancaster.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
