Better Pathways has been granted funding by Birmingham City Council to deliver two mental projects to the citizens of Birmingham:
**MENTOR ME** is a 12-month **mental health wrap around support service** for young people aged 16 - 25. This one-year project is designed to provide young people with the mental health support they need to sustain their journey into education, training, or employment. To be eligible, young people must have significant barriers to overcome, including offending behaviours, or be looked after children or care leavers with identified mental health and wellbeing needs at the point of entry to the project. We will be working closely with project partners.**. **This project is being funded through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund (Jobs & Skills and Wellbeing stream).

Better Pathways is a mental health charity and has been providing services to the citizens of Birmingham since 1963. With a base in Digbeth and a wide network of connections and partner organisations with whom we work, our teams are an integral part of mental health service provision across the city.

**Job Overview**:
The Senior Personal Mental Health Champion role will be pivotal to the success of the project and will work closely with the Senior Therapist to deliver service quality whilst direct case holding. The successful post holder will have significant clinical expertise, a relevant therapy qualification and experience with caseload management. They will support the Senior Therapist with the development of our mental health practitioner practice and associated activities, and on the implementation of a robust mental health outcomes quality assurance process.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be expected to demonstrate competence and have experience working in mental health services. You will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality client care, good organisational skills, an ability to prioritise your workload and have good written and verbal communication skills.

You will also benefit from 30 days’ annual leave in addition to bank holidays and flexible working arrangements, although we hope that the successful post-holder will which to spend a significant portion of their time in the office, getting to know our charity, building relationships with team members and the senior leadership team.

There will be an ongoing commitment to helping you develop your skills, and you will be provided with monthly clinical supervision from a BABCP accredited Psychotherapist which we will commission in.

**Person Specification**

Essential Requirements
- Experience of providing support to adults within mental health services or in a ward or community setting
- Experience of psychosocial interventions.
- Detailed knowledge of health legislation and current practice including CPA and risk assessment management.
- Experience in supporting disabled/disadvantaged young people and knowledge of barriers faced by people with mental health issues.
- Experience and knowledge of delivering neuro-diverse support.
- Caseload management, providing face to face support, building rapport, and developing trust.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Relevant Qualifications e.g. Psychology or industry supported training.
- Experience in a range of clinical settings
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural community
- Knowledge of a range of community agencies/facilities
- Membership of special interest groups/networks
- Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities.
- A commitment to person centered recovery model

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
