Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities:
Reporting directly to our Managing Director, our Sales and Marketing Director will drive sales, revenue and profitability growth by formulating and executing comprehensive strategies. Ownership of these strategies is key to this role.

You'll play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of our business by leading a dedicated team and driving business development opportunities. You'll use your relationships and network to identify & deliver new opportunities aligned with our strategic goals.

Responsibilities of this role include, but aren't limited to;
- Recruit, lead & develop a team, fostering a culture of growth and success.
- Navigate your team through change processes, producing defendable budgets and detailed forecasts that align with our strategic plan.
- Manage budget expectations whilst ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals.
- Contribute to developing our data, analytics, and insights to support client-facing activities.
- Develop highly innovative & engaging strategies to differentiate our business in the competitive landscape.
- Track and measure all marketing & sales activities, enabling informed investment decisions based on performance analysis.
- Support product development and customer engagement initiatives.
- Develop content & pricing strategies to enhance customer engagement and drive revenue growth.
- Utilise customer insights to refine our understanding of the customer journey and acquire new customers effectively.
- Maintaining clear communication and positive engagement with clients and peers is crucial, as is your willingness to travel, meet clients, and attend industry events to stay informed about market trends.
- Design and deliver our sales & marketing strategy, setting out a clear vision and direction of travel linked to the overall business plans. By identifying and assigning challenging projects to team members, you will support their development goals and contribute to our organisation's long-term success.

Essential capabilities needed;
- Proven track record of successfully growing a pharma/ life science business with extensive experience in leadership roles in this sector.
- Commercial awareness to implement strategic plans aligned with organisational goals whilst understanding the market dynamics.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving & exceeding targets and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and understand customer needs.
- Excellent organisational skills including time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards shared goals whilst fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Experience in managing budgets effectively, including forecasting, allocation, and monitoring expenditures.
- Proficiency in core marketing skills, including proposition development, segmentation, pricing, research and distribution/channel development.
- Experience using Marketo, HubSpot, or similar tools and proficiency in using sales CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and data visualisation tools to analyse and present data effectively.
- Experience of managing subscriptions, analysing subscription data, and generating insightful reports to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
- Proficiency in analysing data, identifying patterns and solving complex problems to make informed decisions.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to ultimately achieve desired outcomes.
