**About the role**
The Divisional Director of the Reed Wellbeing Division will have overall responsibility for managing the profit, people, performance, productivity and supporting the growth of a multi-million pound, complex, multi-functional contracts portfolio (including subcontracteddelivery provided by third parties) for all of the Reed Wellbeing Division’s operational activities across the UK. The role is expected to act as the leader of a nationwide operational management team who will be responsible for a range of services includingintegrated health programmes, national diabetes prevention programmes and a range of commercial products. This role reports to the Board-level Operations Director.
**Key responsibilities**
**Influencing and Implementing Strategy**:

- Leading on the development of an effective Growth Strategy for the Reed Wellbeing Division
- Ensuring that the strategy, policy, and forecasts for the Reed Wellbeing Division are communicated to the management team and that each understands how their individual role fits into and contributes to achievement of overall strategic objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining processes by which staff and management feedback about the Reed Wellbeing Division’s strategy, policies and procedures is gathered and filtered up through the management structure to the Divisional Director.
- Liaising with the Operations Director regularly to contribute own and other’s views, ideas and recommendations regarding current and future strategy.
- Reporting regularly as required to the whole Reed in Partnership Board on all relevant matters including the Reed Wellbeing Division’s business strategy, performance and opportunities for growth.
- Determining the optimum deployment of headcount across the various roles within the Reed Wellbeing Division’s operations teams.
- Regularly reviewing deployment of headcount in light of both anticipated and sudden changes in the market and/or in company strategy, recommending and agreeing changes with the Operations Director.

**Business Performance Management, incl. Outcome Measures, Service Delivery Quality and P&L**:

- Translating the overall contract and business performance objectives into local, area and group performance targets..
- Monitoring business performance against agreed local, area and group performance targets, using both generic company performance management systems and methods that the Divisional Director or his / her management team develop within the contracts portfoliowhere these would add value.
- Carefully analysing generic company performance data to accurately interpret past performance and to identify data that forecasts potential over

- performance.
- Identifying ways in which generic performance management data might be enhanced to better inform local and national operational performance.
- Ensuring that the Reed Wellbeing Division has fit-for-purpose and effective systems, processes, products and services in order to meet agreed performance targets.
- Setting up and maintaining formal, nationwide management and reporting structures on at least a monthly basis to ensure that the Divisional Director is fully briefed by and fully briefs the Reed Wellbeing Division’s management team(s) on current priorities,challenges and opportunities.
- Establishing effective organisational structures and processes and continuously improving the working relationships between the Reed Wellbeing Division’s operations teams and support services teams.
- Ensuring that the Reed Wellbeing Division complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements (including guidance relating to clinical governance) and, where appropriate, best practice.
- Co-operating with formal internal contractual performance auditing procedures.
- Preparing for formal inspections, working with internal Compliance and Quality Improvement specialists and with the Operations Director, devising and taking ownership of action plans.
- Actively engage in the annual Quality Improvement process, ensuring that the resulting Action Plans capture and link with quality and performance improvement ideas already devised so as to ensure maximum benefit.
- Maintaining and monitoring generic company risk management systems, seeking ways in which these might be improved and making recommendations to the Operations Director. Developing appropriate mitigating actions and processes covering multiple scenarios.

**Key responsibilities**
**Brand Management & Business Development**:

- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with Funder contract managers (and relevant staff). In coordination with the Reed Wellbeing Division’s management team, present the human face of the company with its track record of trustworthy, agileand effective customer service.
- Identifying and engaging with key stakeholder groups in the contracts portfolio, including local NHS Trusts, local authorities, charities, and interest groups, forming and maintaining professional relationships and ensuring that all potential synergisticopportunities are explored and developed.
